This is a great score for the price - classic dover reprint. It is the full orchestra score and I highly recommend

Got exactly what was ordered - love it.

This appears to be from a very early printed edition and contains mistakes, some of them serious, including missing bassoon staves from a couple of pages. The similar score from Ricordi corrects this.

Perhaps it was my error, but I thought that this would be the vocal score for Aida. I didn't know that "Full Score" would be a conductor's copy. I really can't use it, but did not return it because I thought there was a no refund policy since the product was delivered "as ordered." You should say in your description that that this is a conductor's copy with full instrumentation and NOT a vocal piece. Thank you.

I've owned this score for years and have utilized it to the extreme. Besides its more than adequate service as a musical reference, it has withstood the test of brutal wear a musician can put on a score. The table of contents is more than efficient, the notation is--for the most part--intelligently produced on the page, and the pages are durable without being too thick. As for the "mistakes" to which the previous reviewer is referring, I must say I've noticed none of these mistakes. Though, keeping that in mind I'd have to listen to it again--but I believe the previous reviewer is mistaken in his claim.

That was the bride bargain, and it led to be a series of deceitful, conniving events. Emotions changed, but none of the characters did. They wouldn’t have talked about breaking their fast in 1855. That would have been much, much earlier. They wouldn’t have used the term “baking powder,” either. Before the late 1800’s it would have been “saleratus.” What could have been a good story with a different focus turned out to seem frivolous and rambling without a theme or reason.

This book is about Dr. Saul Reed and Clara neither of whom want to marry. Saul rescues an orphan girl. His father asks him to come to Buttonwood and run his store without mentioning he has taken in two women to cook and clean his house and help with the store in exchange for room and board. Clara and her aunt were not allowed to continue with the wagon train because they were too slow. He asked Clara to find a wife for his son while he was away for the birth of his grandchild. Will she succeed? This is a sweet story that is a very enjoyable read.

Confusing because the bride to be did not seem to have a good reason not to believe that the groom to be had feelings for her. Seemed to think that every man was exactly like her uncle despite having met several men who were kind and considerate and generous. It seemed like the story had to have something to keep the story going.

Every now and then a story comes along that simply is a pleasure to read and demands no deep thinking or serious reflection. Just a simple tale of two different people, both wanting to gain their own agenda and yet indirectly both heading in the same direction. Clara and Doreen have been abandoned by the wagon train as without a man around they have been lagging behind. Arriving in the small town of Bottonwood, they are taken in by kind hearted storekeeper Josiah, who has plans of his own. His son, a city trained doctor, has no plans to move back to his small town home and settle down but his father has other ideas. Striking a bargain with Clara, he sets her the challenge to find Saul a wife. Just what lengths will Clara have to go to to get Saul to the alter?In a tale that is long on the laughs and gentle on the romance, Kelly Eileen Hake brings the warmth and charm of small town America and although the story is fairly predictable, the getting there is always the fun part A wonderful way to while away a few happy hours with these delightful set of characters. And with another 2 books in the series, I can't wait to enjoy more time in Buttonwood.

I enjoyed the story of Clara and Saul. This was a great book, but just a couple things...Clara seemed very well spoken for her life circumstances, and Midge as well. Being only 13 and with her life being as it was (trying to not spoil anything here!), she seemed incredibly intelligent. I am dismayed at the abrupt ending.Looking forward to the next book in the series!

What a delicious read! It ended too soon for me, however, I immediately purchased the next book in this series. I hope Ms. Hake will continue writing about the tiny town of Buttonwood, not to mention the people who make their home there!We have a doctor who lives in Baltimore, two ladies making their way across the plains, with Oregon being their destination. Enter a nice but devious older man, the General Store owner in Buttonwood. He also happens to be the doctor's dad. Somehow, in surprising ways, they all meet. What transpires is too funny, sweet, and amazing! I won't spoil your read by telling you more. Just read this delightful book, and see for yourself! Blessings! 😂

I enjoyed the plot and the interweaving of the characters in it. We see good and evil in this book and yet everything works out to make a happy ending. Our past can at times prevent us from choosing the best future. If you like historical fiction you will enjoy this book.

It has been a long time since I read a frontier romance, but this one seemed fresh. This is a wonderful story, and while we knew how it was likely to end, the path from A to Z was not straight and predictable. It was full of the flavor of the 1850s Nebraska Territory setting without ever overdoing it (threshing, taffy pulling, the difficulties of the Oregon Trail).This storytelling was rich. It was not a comedy, but it definitely had its light side. Neither was it a tragedy, though it had dark threads running through it.This book may have two missed opportunities. In the first, our protagonists have a disagreement about whether anyone does anything from disinterested motives. This question is left hanging unresolved. ...Maybe there is no answer to that one. Finally, the tidying up that occurs in the last couple of pages may be a little too neat.I recommend the book to someone looking for a well-written, entertaining frontier love story that offers strong, appealing female leads; strong, good men; and lots of period flavor.

This is a very good biography that manages to put Caesar's accomplishments into perspective and also gives us a pretty good sense of what he was like as a man.

The reader faces a machine gun volley of facts. It seems that just about every appointment, every battle and every dispute is presented - and since he was undeniably a 'colossus', there are very many of these. What fails to emerge from this is a revealing insight into the character of the man himself. He was a talented writer, a compelling orator and a brilliant general, but this will have been known to the reader from the outset. About a quarter of the way through this very long book, I got used to this approach and hung on, hoping for a great deal more information about the aspects of Caesar's life in which I was most interested: the relationship with Cleopatra and the assassination. Alas, though, whilst the style did not change - it was still a machine gun volley of facts - my response did. It came home to me at this point that what I craved was analysis and this is the vital ingredient missing from the book. I am much better informed about the events in his life than I had been, but I do not feel much insight into the character of the man.

I love reading on my Kindle. But, I strongly suggest buying the printed version of this book rather than the Kindle version. The Kindle version did not have bookmarks to skip from one chapter to the next, it did not have links between footnotes and the text, and it did not have links between the index and the text. The index and notes use page numbers that are meaningless in this Kindle version. The only part with links was the Table of Contents. Basically, you can read the book straight through, but you cannot easily find something particular if you want to do so.Having said that, I really think you should actually buy this book (in printed form) if you care to learn about Julius Caesar. The research, details, and writing were great. The author explicitly stated when details were known, estimated, or merely speculated. And, the bases for estimations and speculations were given. For example, much of Julius Caesar's early life is not known explicitly. So, the author speculated many details based on what would have been expected of a young man at his social level who was to pursue a public career.So, buy it. But, buy the printed book.

About the Author

Professor in the Department of Public and Community Health at the University of Maryland. Dr. Greenberg earned his baccalaureate and masters degrees from The City College of New York, and then continued his education at Syracuse University where he earned his doctorate. Dr. Greenberg taught at Syracuse University, Boston University, and the State University of New York at Buffalo before accepting his current position at the University of Maryland in 1979. Dr. Greenberg has written over 50 books on such topics as elder care, health, stress management, physical fitness, sexuality, and methods of health education. In addition, he has published over 80 articles in professional journals and lay magazines. Among Dr. Greenberg's honors are included: the University of Maryland Service-Learning Advocate of Year Award for 2003-2004; the American School Health Association's Distinguished Service Award; selection as Alliance Scholar by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance; the Presidential Citation, the Certificate of Appreciation, and the Scholar Award of the American Association for Health Education; selection for inclusion in Who's Who in America, Outstanding Young Men of America, and Who's Who in World Jewry. Dr. Greenberg has also served on the editorial boards of the professional journals Health Education and The Journal of School Health and as a reviewer for other professional journals. In addition, Dr. Greenberg has conducted stress management workshops for professional, business, and lay organizations throughout the United States.

This textbook is a rental for my Stress Management class.Condition: Very used - This book was through the wringer before it got to me. The covers are bent, folded and creased; pages are stained and heavily highlighted. It's usable though.Opinion: The author has a healthy ego, that's for sure. He also has some ideas that aren't connected to reality. The first 3 chapters are total slogs - if I were a medical student they might be helpful, but this is stress management, not anatomy or brain chemistry 101. The "tests" on stress level, personality type, ability to forgive, etc. are so short as to be completely useless. An actual personality test is hundreds of questions and hours long. The text is also presented as though the reader is a perfectly well adjusted, has no mental or emotional issues, Stepford-wife kind of person. Newsflash: those people don't exist. The author also presents his topics in the manner of 'it is all in your head'; 'just do it'; 'make up your mind to change and you'll do so'. That's a terrible way to come at psychological issues according to every psychologist I've ever seen or spoken to, and the psychiatrist I used to see.Overall, I find my Stress Management class to be stress inducing and this textbook isn't helping.

One of those course texts that include a bunch of rewordable exercises. Textbooks are fun because facts are not copyright-able, but not many clinicians include tell your clients in the client handout sheets. Instructors have been lobbying them to come out with the private use license for years. So I paraphrased it and will add it to my personal use license material.

This book was purchased for a college class I'm taking, but I will be keeping it on my shelf for reference when assisting clients with their stress-related issues. The ONLY thing I would change about this book is a SLIGHTLY more exciting format; however, it IS a textbook, and FOR a textbook, it is very nicely formatted. The summaries, resource lists, and lab assessments are very nice aspects of an already worthwhile read.This book arrived in very good condition and on time.

It was for a college class so I didn't think much of it when I purchased it but I was surprised when i dove deep in to the reading and learned new fact about managing stress

Had to get this book as required text for a class I was taking. This is one of those college books that you don't mind hanging onto and will gladly put it in your library. The author does a great job of personalizing the text with his own stories with real practical overviews of the physiological, psychological, and social effects from stress reactivity. Great book with helpful labs and reasonable ideas for managing your stress.

This book was excellent. Had to get it for a Stress and Wellness class I was taking and ended up loving it. The lay out of the book is great and the exercises are very well designed. Packed with tons of useful information and plenty of tools to help manage and minimize stress. The tools I learned in this book helped me to prepare for entering one of the hardest UC's. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn how to have a more stress free life.

Fantastic! A book that teachs effective ways of managing stress with out all the mumbo jumbo. I love the assessments provided at the end of each chapter; they help you learn more about yourself (how you handle stress, your personality, and how you react to others). I was required to use this book in a college stress management class, the text definitely help me understand relaxtion techniques and all of the components of stress and relief. It provides plenty of information that is clearly stated and easy to read and understand. I recommend this book to everyone wanting to find more effective and healthy ways of living life.
