At my place of employment, during The Month of the Young Child (April) we read to preschool children and give them literacy kits. The idea is to help instill a love of reading and ergo, they will be at grade level reading by the end of third grade ( Early Warning Report, Annie E. Casey Foundation, 2008). We have a student population that is over 50% hispanic and some of the children (at this age) and the parents are still learning/struggling with speaking and/or reading in English. We want everyone involved to enjoy the story and this book allowed that to happen! Great story in any language!!!

Great book. The story is lovely and a nice lesson for children. The art is engaging and my 2 year old has been enjoying this book since he was 18 months. The book's physical stamina is also pretty good, and an important consideration in our home.
