Fr. Foley is a gifted writer with the ability to simplify into golden nuggets the "love that keeps us sane." He goes beneath the familar words & actions of St. Therese. He shows us -- in the practical everyday wisdom she employed -- a different glimpse of the gem (St. Therese and her little way doctrine). The practical takeaways are tremendous. Once begun, I could not put it down, finishing it with my morning coffee one Saturday. This succinct, little book brought such light of our Little Flower -- a must read for Therese lovers.
This small book offers a profound insight into basic principles of mental and spiritual health that are easily grasped and powerfully effective. I read this book each night just before falling asleep. It's a beautiful, authentic testimony to St Therese's little way. Instead of talking about holiness, the book talks about keeping sanity. Keeping inner peace is keeping sanity. It tells some stories I have already heard but from a different slant and some I had not heard. It relays a powerful message of loving God first and foremost in order to keep sane. St Therese was a genius at it. I will read this book again at least once before I pass it on. Loved it.
