Bella and Niall meets when they are kids, both of them feeling a connection that remains with them as they grow up. Bella is supposedly this tough warrior, she has trained with her fathers men and she is a expert archer. But when she is kidnapped twice all she does is scream. They knew they were in danger, wouldn’t she have a dagger or something like that to protect herself? It just annoys me when a strong woman suddenly become a helpless damsel. I did however loved the way she handled Niall, making him smile. It’s a cute story and I did like Niall and Bella (for the most part) but I couldn’t get into the story. Everything was just too easy, marrying each other, him having a working p....., his divine intervention making a baby. In short I had no problem putting the book down.
Fantastic, enthralling, romantic....So many ways to describe the new Eliza Knight release!! One day...technically a matter of hours was all it took to read this gem. It was a page turner I could not put down. Between the h/h and their personal trials as well as someone trying to kill them, the story has you totally captivated as their happily ever after seems just a breath away at ever turn only to be dashed by venomous highlander who wants to take it from them. There have been many heros with scars, eye patches, limps etc; however this highland warriors scar from battle is heart wrenching and his struggle to cope is just as real. The way it is written and the strength he finds in his lady knight is immeasurable. Eliza's research that went into this story and the heroins gift is impressive. I knew she was going to do something with a wow factor and boy did she deliver. I love a great historical romance, especially one with some extra steamy moments, and as expected Eliza Knight delivers the steam as always. Fantastically writtten, enthralling story, a hero you want to take home, a heroin who prides you with girl power and a backdrop that stimulates the readers imagination! Thank you Eliza for sharing your gift of story telling, we the readers are so lucky!!! Highly recommend this book, you wont be able to put it down!!!
Eliza Knight , writer extraordinaire . The tale of Bella and Nial. The love begins when Bella is 9 and Nial a little older. They were competing in an archery completion for children. Girls were not allowed but Bella insisted on having her a chance to be crowned Knight For The Day. She won the tourney after Nial insisted that she should be allowed to enter. Bella won. Ten or more years passed with no contact between them. They never forgot each other. Bella is sure she will never marry because she thinks she is barren and Nial is despondent and on his way to being a drunk. He has lost his left arm in a battle and does not ever want to marry but he is engaged to Princess Elizabeth, Robert Bruce's daughter. Please read this to find the book's story and the ending of this novel is very heart warming end to this series and readying the reader for the next series. You Will Not Regret the purchase of this one.

I really enjoyed this story of Bella & Niall. I was a little hesitant to read this one because I'm not always a fan of reading stories that relate to my favorite books, maybe afraid I'll be disappointed?? One of my favorite books by this author is The Highland Reward, which happens to be the story of Bella's parents. I think I liked this story even more than that one. This book is a little shorter, which I didn't mind. I like to read a book in one setting. I think this book will appeal to most people except those who want an entirely clean story. There were a few bedroom scenes in this story, which is usually the case with this author's books.
One of my favorite writers has a done it again. This is a fantastic story of looking past the outer beauty and looking to what is within. Bella is a strong-willed lass who wants to step out of gender norms but also wants to be with the one man she has remembered since she was a child. Niall is wounded in battle and is not whole anymore in mind and body. He has been hung up on the same girl since he saw her and has compared every woman to her even though the last time she saw her she was a wee sprite and hellion.They find each other again, but there are challenges in their way. Their journey is a great one filled with passion, discoveries, and pushing limits.I absolutely loved this book.
I loved the initial meeting of the H/h when they were children. Even as a child, there was a sense of the kind and fair man that Niall would become. And, of course, the sassy and independent little Bella who wasn't afraid to take on the "lads" was truly entertaining and made you want to know more of her story. When they meet again, years later, the proud warrior is betrothed to a haughty Princess who disdains him for the loss of his arm. When she breaks the betrothal, Bella takes that opportunity to let her father know that he is the man that she wants. I loved the characters of Bella and Niall. Together they work to overcome their fears...Neill that he cannot protect his clan and the woman he loves with only one arm and Bella with the knowledge that she is infertile. Along with the fast-paced excitement of Highlanders in battle there are also some rather funny moments...like Bella believing the rumor that Neill is somehow damaged "down there" as well as his arm. I truly enjoyed this book and have already purchased the next in the series.Sexual situations may offend some readers
