Such a good book, regarding bringing up the tough questions to ask prior to marriage. My, now husband, and I went through this while we were dating. We were apart for a while and so we would go through the book on our own and write down or highlight things we wanted to talk about. I really opened to doors for us to be honest with ourselves, each other, and our expectations of what we were wanting out of our marriage. When we went to see a Chaplain prior to our marriage, he asked us a lot of similar hard questions, and we had the answers. We knew we were on the same page, and he said we were one of the most prepared couples he'd ever interviewed in pre-martial counseling.

This book is a MUST for any couple; whether newly dating, engaged, or married for years. This book was suggested as a part of couples therapy and it has been such a fun experience to go through it together with my partner. It gets you communicating about things that you often overlook, but that become very important parts of any relationship! I’ve recommended it to many friends and can’t wait to complete it... then do it again in a few years!

Parents had used earlier version and suggested the boyfriend and I read this book first once we started talking about getting married... Great read and had me thinking of questions i'd never would have thought of.

This review is reflective of the poor printing, not the content. The printer seems to have been solely concerned with saving paper and not at all with the layout of the pages themselves. Chapters run from one right into the next without starting a new page and the text is not centered on the page. That may not matter to some but I find it distracting and difficult to find chapters that I may want to turn back to. For me, reading a book is a somewhat holistic experience that can be added to, or in this case taken away, by the binding and printing of the page. A little more attention to aesthetics would have been appreciated.

I bought this as a companion volume to my limited edition leatherbound Articles of Faith by Talmage, available from the LDS distribution center. The version of Jesus the Christ I received was published by Deseret Publishing, with a blue tint faux leather similar to leatherbound scriptures. While they don't match (the AoF is a red leather, and slightly larger in size), this one is a similar heirloom quality that will definitely last a long time. These two books by Talmage are among my most favorite gospel writings, so to replace my dog-earred missionary paperback and to finally retire my great-grandmother's hardbound book with something of such high quality seems particularly satisfying and rewarding, even fitting.

this book was one of the best books that has ever been written on the life of Jesus Christ. After reading this book you'll have a much greater understanding of Christ what he did and why he did it. A perfect example is holy week if you want to understand Easter we one day at a time as they happen. Read what happened on Monday on Monday and so on and so on up until he was mailed on the cross. It takes you from Gethsemane to Calvary Day by day. That's where the book right there. And somehow the this to your family gather around which you want to have your brand-new Kindle or the old friend of the book.

I like Jimmy's philosophy of learning all you can about anything and everything so it becomes apart of your problem solving arsenal in the shop. In this book he shows several techniques and skills, although it is not a step by step or how to book it does give one the sense of "ohhh! I wonder if that would work on (insert idea here)."It's a great book. I have the kids thumb through it as often as I can refer to it!
